Elizabeth Catlett
1915-2012
Elizabeth Catlett was born and raised in Washington, D.C. and achieved great reknown as an artist and sculptor. Educated at Howard University, her professors included Lois Mailou Jones and Alain Locke. Her work is in the collections of the MoMA, the Metropolian Museum of Art, among others.
